“My mission in life is to help you achieve your mission in life.”

Do you know what the most common question I receive from my e-book-
consulting clients?

The question is…How do I keep someone from stealing my e-books?”

My answer to that question is… you want people to steal your e-
books!

Here are three reasons you want people to steal your e-books.

1. Qualify more consulting clients.

Recently 3 separate individuals called my home and asked me if a
document they found under another author’s name was mine. They were
afraid it was stolen and wanted to make me aware what was happening
to my valuable e-book files.

Actually, I sold reprint and distribution rights for this document to
the accused.
In addition I sold him co-author rights as well.

I added that everything was okay.

The three callers have now become my consulting service clients since
the initial phone calls.

I would have never found these 3 clients for the fact that they were
good Samaritans, informing me of possible “evil doing.”

2. Create and Ignite “cluster bombs” Filled with Money.

How would you like to create and set off bombs and not hurt anyone? I
plant a series of cluster bombs; loaded with money that can be
triggered by thieves in each e-book I create.

These cluster bombs include valuable resource information that either
direct the reader to my free information, e-books and telephone
consulting over the Internet or to affiliate links that drive the
reader to other websites.

This is all great, NO-SPAM publicity for me.

In the case of my most popular digital product, “Stage Hypnotist
Training, ” I include my Amazon.com Associate’s Program links over to
the best books on Stage Hypnotism written by other authors.

When the potential thief steals my files and posts my stage hypnosis
lessons for free over the Internet, I stand to make a great deal of
money from the seeded affiliate links.

Since the files are just ASCII text files delivered by autoresponder,
I stand a great chance of enhancing my income from any e-book thief.

3. Discover a New Sales Network for Your E-books

If you have marketed successfully on the Internet, you realize that
no matter where you stand in the search engine standings, you still
need high traffic websites linking over to your website.

In order for the “thief” to be successful in posting your e-book on-
line and selling it or giving it away for free, the thief must have a
large network as well.

An easy way of finding the thief’s network is for you to conduct
a “link search” on the thief’s website. (This can be executed on
AltaVista.com)

Within a few seconds you have discovered websites that are “pointing”
at the thief’s website.

Once you have discovered the Thief’s network, you can submit your
articles and free content in return for links over to your product
description page on your website.

After all, the thief’s network has already proven interested in what
you write. They are encouraging others to view your purloined
document.

Summary:

Think about the advantages and opportunities you can create by having
your E-books and digital content stolen.

Once you realize that within minutes you can acquire consulting
clients, ignite cluster bombs filled with money, and discover new
networks of business opportunities, you too will be saying…”Steal
My E-books…Please”

Building niche sites is all the rage these days.

The basic strategy is very simple. Find a niche market that isn’t oversaturated. Develop a list of related keywords people are searching on. Then write an article optimized for each one of your keywords. Once you have your articles, upload them to your site. Monitize your site with affiliate links and Adsense.

For this kind of niche site to be effective and make money, it is imperative that you get free traffic, and a lot of it. And that’s exactly where a blog can be your best friend.

At its very simplest, a blog is just a structure. It’s the bones of a web site. A blog is a simple way to publish and display your content online. Most of us think of blogs as a chronicle of news events, or commentary on news and items of interest. Or personal diaries.

Few people stop to think that you can build any kind of website with a blog. In reality, a blog can be used very effectively to build a niche site. The fact of the matter is, a blog is the easiest way to publish your niche site content. But the biggest reason to use a blog is that it can drive traffic to your site a lot faster than a statically-built site. A niche site built with a blog is a very powerful strategy.

First, choose your niche and research your keywords. Write your first article based on one of those keywords, just as you would when building a regular site. Then set up your blog and publish that article. Your niche site is now live.

To make your site structure the most effective, be sure to choose a blog that allows the use of Categories, such as Word Press or Moveable Type. Use your 10 most important keywords as the name of your Categories. Then file all your secondary keyword articles under those Categories.

Why is this so important? If you keep building your site with keyword-rich articles, eventually you could have hundreds of pages. Each of those pages will have a link to your 10 Categories. And each of those links will use the anchor text of your most important keywords. As a result of all those internal keyword-rich links, your site will end up ranking very well in the search engines for your Category names.

Now it’s time to set up your traffic strategy. This is where a blog can really shine. There are many special RSS/blog directories that are hungry for feeds. By submitting your new blog to these directories, you can start getting traffic almost immediately. Quite often these feeds will result in a lot more traffic than all the major search engines combined. This is why it makes so much sense to build your niche site as a blog. You can have twice the traffic, and get it much faster than with a static site.

Here is a list of some of the top RSS/blog directories you should submit your site to:
http://www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55/

Once you’ve submitted your site to the directories, you can get it indexed by Yahoo almost immediately by adding your RSS feed to your MyYahoo page. If you don’t have a MyYahoo page, just go to http://www.yahoo.com. Now click on the MyYahoo link at the top and set up your free account. Once you have your account set up, click on Add Content, then add the URL of your blog RSS feed into the Find Content box.

When you go back to your MyYahoo page, your blog plus your first post should be shown. If you go look at your web stats for your site, you’ll find that the Yahoo spider has already made a visit! Your new site should be indexed in Yahoo in just a couple of days. This is a strategy that some marketers were selling for $50 just a few months ago. And it works like a charm.

Every time you add a post, you can alert the RSS/blog directories by “pinging” them. There is a wonderful site at http://www.pingomatic.com that makes this very easy. You just have to type in your blog URL and Pingomatic will send your ping to Yahoo and about 15 other large directories. That will bring the spiders back to your site almost immediately!

During the first month, I would suggest that you write and add a new article every day. Blogs that are frequently updated get the most traffic. And you’ll find that the major search engines will spider your site every day. At the end of a month, you’ll have a 30-article niche site that is already getting a lot of traffic. If you’ve monetized your site with Adsense and related affiliate programs, you should also be making money already.

Once you’ve started building your niche sites with a blog, you’ll never go back to doing it the old way again!

When it comes to estate jewelry there is always much discussion about what is and what is not estate jewelry. The definition is really quite simple. Estate jewelry is jewelry acquired from the estate of another person, who can be living or deceased. The simple definition of estate jewelry is jewelry that is previously owned.

Contrary to what many believe looking good doesn’t have to cost a fortune - just buy estate jewelry! And save plenty!!

There is often much confusion with both dealers and consumer. There is some false myths floating around that estate jewelry is antique jewelry. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Although many pieces of estate jewelry are antique, many pieces are also vintage, retro, or fairly modern. That’s why searching for estate jewelry can result in some terrific buys!

Estate jewelry also does not mean fine jewelry. Estate jewelry can be costume or fine and is found both ways.

Throughout the ages and even today a perfect gift for a woman was a piece of jewelry. There is also a distinction made of women who wear jewelry. It seems to set them a class above other women. Why has never been determined. It’s simply been a cultural norm for centuries.

We often take our clues as to jewelry popularity by watching what the celebrities are wearing. Next time you are watching television take note of how many pieces of jewelry the stars are wearing that are from another era. Celebrities are very fond of estate jewelry!

Antique jewelry is normally classed as jewelry that is pre 1920, while art deco, vintage, and retro are often grouped together and denote the era from the 1920s to the 1950s. Estate jewelry can be from any of these eras.

If you are looking for classic jewelry like your grandmother may have worn consider searching jewelry sites that sell antique and estate jewelry. If you are collecting jewelry you should pay special attention to the estate jewelry sites who have a wide range of designer marked pieces. Collecting can be expensive so make sure to set a budget.

If you are looking to complete your wardrobe and hate looking like everyone else, estate jewelry is an excellent choice. Here you will find variety and beautiful pieces from many different time periods. The chances of finding another wearing the exact same jewelry piece as you are drastically reduced.

You can look unique and stand out from the crowd with estate jewelry. You also can choose between fine jewelry and costume jewelry. The prices are very reasonable and the costume jewelry of past eras has a much higher quality than modern costume jewelry.

The designs and styles were more highly refined and much classier. Costume jewelry of past eras was designed not only for the general population but also for the rich and famous. Many design ideas were inspired from fine jewelry pieces of the era.

So the next time you are looking to add glamour and sophistication to your wardrobe remember to have a quick search on line for estate jewelry. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with your options!
See I told you looking good doesn’t have to cost a fortune!

The weather has got less warmer, the days are becoming not as long and an additional schedule of international catwalk shows has fallen down on the world’s fashion areas, from glitzy New York to trend setting London. Yes, October is absolutely here, and like always, we have our fingers on the proverbial pulse of designer fashion’s beating heart. With our choice of British and international designers ranging from the astonishing iconic designer fashion houses (Lanvin, Balenciaga) to the trendiest names (Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney) to the newest ones to watch (Christopher Kane, Erdem), it’s no wonder the British elite routinely confess that they don’t buy clothes anywhere other than Matches!

This season catwalk fashion is boldly colourful, and we are forever in love with some of autumn’s eye-opening statement-making trends. Christopher Kane’s fiercely cool animal printed t shirts have been bought up by the must have designer fashion pack, gracing front rows and the fashion pages of magazines alike. The Kane tops are the ideal partner to another key catwalk trend at the moment - leggings - yup, this is the season to flash those limbs, and Freda, Sykes and of course Les Chiffoniers have all got some ultra-sleek, incredible pairs. For the fashion fever in you, there are thigh-high boots - these thigh huggers are the absolute look of the Autumn season; Stella McCartney’s version are black leather, dramatic and utterly drop dead jaw dropping. These bold boots look set to stay around, and we couldn’t be happier; the black boots are a lovely way to give even the blandest outfit a twinkling dose of on-trend sophistication.

Lastly, this is definitely the Autumn season to put your shoulders forward! Big, padded shoulders are making an eighties comeback - tremendously wearable, this is a greatly flattering trend this time around, and we are in love with Julien McDonald’s strikingly dapper sharp-shouldered dresses.

We say bring on the colder mornings and windy afternoons…the UK weather may get freezing but with such super clothes to wear this Autumn Winter season, we will make sure you look hotter than in Spring. Check out the latest Marc Jacobs at Matches Fashion.

Children learn things by playing and doing things; individuals could even make the statement that childrens toys and games are regularly educational, but in reality the great thing is some children do not understand they might well be learning things as they are simply having merriment. Babies are certain to benefit from a musical table because it teaches them melodies that children like to dance to; it normally has the alphabet in two different languages. In addition, these kinds of playthings posses a few draws which strengthen small motor skills when the young kid pulls, pushes, turns and grabs at the objects. Among the age range two to four a great number of children really want to play games. Preschool children will also love the DS games console and also Build a Bear Workshop. This is the age when they regularly like to learn to cook food so a kitchen oriented toy featuring fake food, cash draw and also play cash will satisfy their curious spirits and additionally teach them organizational skills and abilities. Boy toys for this particular age group might include tools, cars and additionally some other building products. Not all online retailers are a bargain; click here for cheap toys.

Small girls love anything to do with dress up, makeup and hair, which is the reason why Barbie has never gone out of style. Mattel keeps improving her year after year, and subsequently has really become quite skilled at realizing the modifications in how wider society views little girls. Barbie is clearly her very own woman, she teaches girls self esteem and also to appreciate inner attractiveness.

Childrens toys in the early years and beyond may well be even more technically complex; these toys and games excite the head and also increase hand eye coordination.

Lemmings are cute, but dumb. If you tell them to jump off a cliff, they will. Just like the people who start blogs because everyone is doing it. Guess what happens after a little while? The blogs die.

In managing a list of many Web sites, most of which are blogs, I deleted countless sites from the list because the sites and blogs no longer existed. The people ran out of steam or had no reason to start them in the first place.

How do you know when a blog is right for your business? Learn why people start blogs, how they find their niche and how blogging tools can be used for more than blogs.

Some people like to read blogs, others like to read newsletters, still others like to rely on feeds and some read a few or all of them. No matter the method the information is distributed, each medium has one thing in common: content. Having a blog connects your newsletter and your business with all of these readers and delivers important content in a particular style.

I’ve been blogging since June 2000. If you review my early blog entries in meryl’s notes, you’ll notice they’re more personal. When blogs first hit the scene in the late ’90s, they were personal diaries and journals. Like the blog business, my blog has transformed from personal to business speak, although I still add personal notes here and there.

A few bloggers tend to talk about their work, their products and their little world. That might work for celebrities where fans want to know everything about them, but it doesn’t work for the average business person. Other business people want information on how to succeed and when a blog spends time hawking products offering information of no value, few people will return. The people whose products sell well are the ones who provide valuable information. Readers already know what kind of information they’re getting, so they trust that when they buy something, it will be of the same or better quality. This value must be reflected in their blog. It’s much like people who only sign up for a newsletter after first seeing an example.

No one wants to be a lemming (I would hope). How do you decide whether or not to set up a blog? The answer isn’t black or white (what did you expect?). Ask these questions:

Can you regularly update it at least five times a week?

Do you have something to say other than just linking to others?

Do you read other blogs or feeds?

Can you provide information of value to others not just to yourself?

How large is your newsletter subscriber list?

How many unique visitors do you get on an average day, week or month?

The big decider is whether or not you can write in the blog almost daily. The people behind the high traffic blogs post multiple times a day. Though resourceful, merely linking to other sites doesn’t give visitors much reason to make the effort to come to yours. Reading other blogs or feeds is a great way to learn how to carry a discussion. Find other blogs covering topics similar to yours and check them out. Disagree with their opinions? Write about it and explain your reasons. Cross-blog discussions are common, and that’s where trackback comes in handy.

Trackback is a blog feature. If you decide to comment on another blog posting in your blog instead of in that blog’s comments page, then you link to the conversation through the trackback link. Trackback is similar to the permalink, the permanent URL for the blog entry, but it has a different URL for copying and pasting in your blog’s trackback box.

Aside from the technical aspects of operating a blog on a daily basis, subscriber list size and Web site traffic are good indicators of what kind of reaction you’ll get when opening a blog. Starting from scratch with little traffic means you have a long road ahead and lots of work to do. There is no magic formula anyone can sell you for $97 to make your blog an overnight success. But with some perseverance and ingenuity, your blog can engage many prospects and clients.

Considering there are numerous blogs out there, pick a niche topic when starting a blog for a better shot at attracting and keeping an audience. meryl’s notes focuses on three areas: webby, geeky and wordy. In reality, this is too much. What I need to do for my readers is create three separate blog entry points, so those interested in writing, newsletters and Internet marketing get nothing but the wordy entries. Those interested in Web design get the webby stuff and the technophiles receive the geeky content.

I also manage a personal blog separate from meryl’s notes. It’s about cochlear implants and deafness. This could fall under the geeky category, but it’s a personal blog and doesn’t belong in meryl’s notes. This blog is written for a different audience.

The blogging tools for both of my blogs come with syndication capabilities so those using feed readers or aggregators can read the content through the software. When sending a new issue of a newsletter, comment on it or link to it in the blog, that way the blog and feed readers will get the goods, so all three bases are covered.

Blogging tools aren’t just for, well, blogging. Such tools are an excellent way to help you update your Web site more often than you otherwise would. I use it to manage the list of tableless Web sites. Using blogging tools is much easier than the way I managed it before, updating the HTML files by hand. Though using a blog tool, it isn’t a blog. In this case, the blog tool has become a content management system (CMS).

Small business owners don’t have a need for the fancy and pricey CMSes out there. They find it easier to use blogging software to manage their sites or hire someone to adapt the tool for their site.

Blogs have found a place in businesses and people are finding creative ways to use them. Some companies have a blog on the intranet for communicating project status, jeopardies and metrics. They’re used for knowledge management. With information pouring in, blog tools provide a way to share, organize and process the information.

Being a follower can be good or bad. No one wants to walk off a cliff with the lemmings, but everyone wants to succeed. Best practices won’t help, since the decision to blog is based on the organization’s mission, needs and goals along with its target market’s desires and needs. A blog about lemmings? There is one, sort of. Or maybe you’d like to start your own and talk about dumb business moves.

Most of us have seen the newest robotic fish and some of these organic fish replicas are very proficient in the water. In fact they can almost wiggle-swim as fast as normal fish. The have cool names like “RoboTuna” and such, but they are assisting scientists in studying fish schools, habits, migration and fish behavior; sounds fishy? Indeed, but imagine what we will learn from these newest robotic fish replicas.

The Military is interested too, as they can be used to inspect ship hulls, hunt for sea mines and make great surveillance autonomous underwater vehicles or AUVs. They blend right in, as they look just like a fish. Spying on the enemy or locating sea mines so our “blue Forces” will not hit them. Saving lives of Navy Seals teams, sailors and marines landing in the region.

The Department of Homeland Security can use them to check out merchant ships from foreign shores, inspect Oil Tanker hulls for leaks, even make sure cruise ships are safe from harm. No enemy will be able to enter the harbors or ports of our nation, sneaking in from underwater.

But I propose another commercial use for them; saving lives. Let’s split the rear tail fin and put an extendable rope or cable of very strong material with a handle on it. If someone is drowning or gets carried away from a riptide at the beach the lifeguard would send out “RoboFish” to the rescue and then tow the drowning victim to safety. Think on it, it could work?

What fairy tales of enchanted princesses and legendary lore of the Arabian Nights does not the mere mention of the ruby conjure up to our imagination! No stone has been more intimately connected with poetry and romance, and few gems can compare either in beauty or value with a perfect ruby. When Solomon exclaimed that “a virtuous woman was more valuable than rubies,” and Job, that “the price of wisdom is above rubies,” they both mentioned what to them was the most valuable thing in existence. And its value and rarity have not decreased since their time. Today a perfect ruby of five carats will fetch at least five times the value of a diamond of the same size and quality, while rubies without flaw or blemish, and of the true pigeon-blood variety, weighing as much as ten carats, are so rare and valuable that ten times the value of a perfect diamond would be considered a very low price to pay for so perfect a gem.

The ruby is the oldest or first known of all precious stones, dating far back in the early history of Chaldea and Babylonia. The finest specimens, as well as the largest quantities, are found in Upper Burma, and at the present time over one-half of the world’s supply comes from this locality. The rubies found in Ceylon, Siam and Australia have not the deep rich color of the Burmese ruby which is a shade of red slightly inclined to the purple and is often called “Pigeon Blood Ruby.” The value of rubies depends upon their color and transparency.

The red sapphire or ruby is the most valuable of the corundum family, and when found of a good color, pure and brilliant, and in sizes of one carat and larger, it is much more valuable than a fine diamond of the same size.

Rubies and Sapphires are scientifically the same stone, differing only in color. Corundum, the predominating mineral of both, is composed of nearly pure alumina. The coloring substance, which differentiates rubies and sapphires, is believed to be chromium. In the scale of hardness the gem ranks as No. 9 and is thus the hardest of all substances excepting the diamond. Color is the most important factor in determining the value of the ruby. The gem is always more or less imperfect, but its freedom from bad imperfections is also important. Since fine rubies of all sizes are extremely rare, the price increases very rapidly with an increase in size, and a fine ruby of more than four carats commands an extraordinary price and can be said to be the most valuable of all gems, exceeding greatly a diamond of equal weight. The color of the ruby varies from the lightest rose tint to the deepest carmine, but the rarest and most valuable shade is known as Pigeon Blood. This is the color of arterial blood. The ruby has always been greatly admired, and many say that the ruby in the British Crown is the most beautiful gem they have ever seen.

The ruby is found in limestone deposits on side hills, but the largest quantity is found in alluvial deposits of gravel and clay in riverbeds. These deposits are about fifteen to twenty feet below the surface and from a few inches to five feet in thickness. This material called “byon” is mined or removed and put through a washing process by which the rubies are recovered.

The genuine ruby is gotten from the mineral known as corundum. Emery, so much used, is an impure form of corundum. The superbly blood-red color of the perfect ruby is produced by the very tiny portions of impurity in the substance after they have been crystallized by Nature’s wonderful processes. All genuinethat is natural stones, contain certain tiny flaws and blemishes and characteristic peculiarities. The fewer these flaws the rarer the gem. Imitation stones get their imperfections during manufacture, and as the chemists are more careful than Nature, these imperfections are less noticeable. By the following differences between the real and the artificial, you can test your ruby. A real ruby contains irregularly shaped bubbles; the imitation ruby contains bubbles that are perfectly round. Natural rubies all have a silky sheen, due to a number of tiny parallel lines going in three definite directions; imitation stones never have this characteristic.

While lab-created rubies and sapphires have a distinct use in jewelry, they can never affect the sale of the real gems any more than is the case with imitation pearls. Aside from the fact that the imitation can always be ultimately detected, the person desiring to purchase a ruby, as a ruby, and as a work of beauty and distinction wants a gem which he knows is one of nature’s rarities and is therefore possessed of intrinsically great value. A good illustration of this fundamental feeling is given by Mr. Zell a noted mineralogist, who says, “Many perfect copies of the Sistine Madonna have been made by good artists, the original is priceless, the copies at the most are worth a few hundred dollars, this is the relation of a gem made in nature’s laboratory to one produced by the chemist.”

Today, the ruby is still considered one of the most valuable and beautiful of the precious stones. Artisans of fine jewelry throughout the world continue to utilize this fine gem in their creations. Ruby is the birthstone for the month of July.
