Exploiting Insect Swarm Weakness to Stop Them

August 30th, 2008

When looking at a killer bee swarm or locust swarm it is interesting indeed the level of sophistication they have, when you start getting up close and personal. In fact what appears to be a chaotic mess and in the case of a locust plague literally a problem of biblical proportions may actually be quite well refined. One online think tank recently considered this issue.

Warren States; “If you did discover that single swarm related weakness and exploited it, think of the leverage we, as a species would enjoy over these nasty little creatures, think of the plague locusts are in African countries.”

Indeed and I personally had considered a way to steer them, previously from most writings prior to your contacting me. I believe we can steer them and even use them to serve our will in battle against an enemy or to make energy, create methane or cut the grass. So, I see a cooperative possibility using steering techniques. But for those plagues, which devastate the land, surely we need to stop that forthwith.

Warren states; “Think of the tone in the voices of those UN folks who film the onslaught, the narrator on the Discovery Channel as they view the oncoming destruction and mention that of course there is nothing any of us humans can do about it.”

In the Discovery Channel Feature on Locust Plagues, I found some interesting information as they followed them by air and when I watched this I thought, hmm? Well we could stop them. But not with little crop dusters, no way. We need massive fire-power and of course it goes without saying that we need to exploit their weakness if we are to stop them. No doubt about it. Consider this in 2006.

Shadows Boxing

August 29th, 2008

Towards the end of Million Dollar Baby the character Scraps, ex boxing great turned gym porter, says of a character who has been away from the gym for a while, “And then a ghost walked in.” This is an inadvertant commentary on almost all the principal characters in the film, and thier relationships to each other.

Scraps (Morgan Freeman) is a ghost for Frankie (Clint Eastwood), as is Maggie (Hillary Swank) - the former because he lost sight in one eye in a match, many years ago, partly due to Frankie, and the latter because as time goes on she becomes a surrogate for his long gone daughter who refuses to reconcile with him (we are not told exactly what went wrong between Frankie and his daughter, though we see that he has a shoebox full of letters he sent her marked RETURN TO SENDER).

Frankie goes to Mass every day; the priest tells him, “Write to your daughter.” Scraps and Maggie bond because both have been trained by Frankie. Scraps and Maggie, without knowing it, become mirrors of each other, each having been gravely hurt in boxing matches with Frankie as their manager. Yet, at the same time, they mirror each other in another way - boxing is their whole life (Maggie tells Frankie at one point, “If I don’t have this, I have nothing”; Scraps literally lives in the gym, in a small space in a corner with a curtain.

He never leaves the place (Frankie invites him to come to Vegas for a fight and he says, “Do you know what this place would look like if I left it?”) Everyone whom Frankie seems to care about in his life has been gravely hurt by him - his daughter, Maggie, and Scraps. The gym is a place of vicousness and street consciousness - a bully beats an annoying punk to a bloody pulp, only to be knocked out cold in turn by Scraps. Frankie and Maggie are both on horrible terms with their immediate families, and Scraps has no family in sight;it is such a nonissue for him that none is ever even mentioned.

In this world, in these lives, the characters share much that is bleak and dismal, yet the end effect of the film on the viewer is one of hope, respect, and dignity nonetheless. Any time one character turns to another, their souls, their cores, relate - and in this way these relationships reveal to us some of the essential truths about humanity.

Invoice Processing Costs: How to Pick an Outsourced Bill Printer

August 28th, 2008

The technology of bill delivery has changed in the past few years which has resulted in large potential savings for Billers if they choose the correct Print Outsourcer to produce and send their bills. For example, with the introduction of electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) the overall costs of bill delivery is being dramatically reduced by customers accepting their bills online and choosing not accept a paper bill.

According to a CheckFree study performed in November of 2005, 56% of U.S. Online households are paying at least one bill online, up from 52% in June of 2004. Many of the bigger Billers have taken advantage of this trend and have brought their overall cost of bill delivery down by as much as 30%. The key to realizing substantial savings is asking the right questions. When selecting a Print Outsourcer it is critical to ask the following Ebill questions and investigate whether they have kept up with recent technology.

1. Do you provide Ebilling capabilities and what adoption rates can I expect? Adoption rates are the key to a successful cost savings Ebill program. Adoption rates can bring down the overall cost of your total billing program by up to 30%. The definition of adoption rates is the number of customers that request an electronic bill instead of a paper bill. If you have 10,000 customers and 2,000 of your customers request an electronic bill instead of a paper bill that means you have achieved a 20% adoption rate. A 20% adoption rate can equate to a 15% overall savings in your total bill distribution costs. For example, if you’re overall cost of printing and mailing 10,000 bills is $6,200, the potential cost savings for a 20% adoption rate would be $930 leaving your new overall cost at $5,270.

2. What methods do you use to achieve high adoption rates? The Print Outsourcer should be able to send you’re bills through the CheckFree Distribution Network. This means that your customers who pay their bills through their banks bill pay site or through the MyCheckFree.com will be able to see their bills in these pay sites. The Print Outsourcer should also provide a wide range of successful adoption programs which include: Bill stuffers, CSR scripts, positive and negative incentive programs, email and internet campaigns, etc.

3. How will you charge me for Ebill? Some Print Outsourcers may be willing to take on the risk of adoption rates. In other words, they may be willing to charge you “One Price” for all bills going out and set the “One Price” at a very low rate. For example, a Print Outsourcer may be willing to charge $.39 for every bill going out. The Print Outsourcer’s cost for printing, inserting, 2 envelopes, and postage would be close to the $.39 or maybe even a little higher. However, they will charge $.39 for every bill whether it’s an Ebill or a Paper bill. If the Print Outsourcer can send out 20% of the invoices electronically it brings down their overall costs so that they are still profitable. If the Print Outsourcer doesn’t perform and bring up adoption rates, they will not make much money. This helps you as a client receive a very low price for bill creation and delivery but also motivate the Print Outsourcer to perform so they can make a profit.

After you have satisfied yourself concerning the prowess of the Print Outsourcer concerning Ebill capabilities, it is still very important to assess the printing abilities of the printer. Although the art and science of printing has been around for many years, some Print Outsourcers have taken advantage of new technology to bring prices down to an all time low in Labor, Materials, and Postage. If you know the tricks you can participate in these cost savings with the Print Outsourcer. Labor cost reductions have been driven down by Intelligent and Selective Inserters. The newer inserters can dramatically reduce the labor cost associated with inserting the bills and stuffers into the envelopes.

Labor costs have also been driven down by self help customer care tools. If a Print Outsourcer can give their clients full visibility into the print process which includes seeing job status, viewing invoice output, self proofing of jobs, invoice seeding, etc., then the client demands less customer service from the Print Outsourcer. This brings labor costs down and gives more control to the client to solve their own issues. Material costs have also been reduced substantially by high speed color cut sheet printers. In addition, Printer Outsourcers who print their own forms tend to have a lower cost. Lastly, first class postage costs can be reduced to less than $.30 per piece by commingling.

For savvy Billers who want to save money through Print Outsourcing, these tips will help you choose the correct vendor and get the lowest cost for the best service.

Doing Anything Is Better Than Doing Nothing!

August 21st, 2008

I hear from a lot of people who want to get started in their own work at home business ideas. But, they’re not getting started. They’re waiting. For what? Lots of things.

Some people are waiting for the right time to get started. They’re not sure when that is, but they expect to know when it comes.

Some people are waiting until they’ve learned everything about their particular line of business.

Some people are waiting for their potential partner to get ready to start.

And, frankly, some people don’t know why they’re waiting.

It’s time to stop waiting and start doing.

Now. Today. This very minute. Here are the facts . . .

Forget about waiting for the right time. There is no right time other than now.

Forget about learning everything. You and I (and everyone else) will never learn everything. It’s impossible.

If your partner isn’t ready now, then maybe this is not the right partner for you. Your life is passing you by while you’re waiting.

The longer you wait, the older you get. The more you miss out on the good things in life. The things you are waiting to get.

I understand that many of you are worried about doing the wrong thing. You probably will. But, you’re likely to do that anyway.

Thomas Watson - CEO of IBM back in the day - had this advice: Increase your rate of failure and you’ll become successful faster. You see, everyone screws up. The quicker you do it, the faster it’s over with.

You have to remember that if you want more out of life, you have to put yourself in a position to get it.

According to the emails I get and the people I meet, the average person wants more out of life.

Why don’t they just go get it? Because they are not in a position to do anything about it.

Most people do not control their own destiny. They are subject to the whims of some employer. Their financial growth is limited to a 4% annual salary increase.

These people can yearn for more - forever. They’re not going to get it. Because they are not in a position to get more.

If they want a new car, they can’t get it because they can’t afford the higher car payment. If they want to take a vacation, they can’t do it because they have no way to earn the extra money.

If you want to really enjoy life, you have to be in a position to control your financial future.

When you hear that you can make easy money working an online Internet business, remember that the word “work” is in there. It does, and will always, take some effort to acquire anything.

The phrase is “work at home business” not “goof off at home business.” There are substantial gains and advantages for having your own automated Internet business running 24/7 without it requiring your constant attention. But it will require some work. And the first thing necessary is to GET STARTED!

Here’s an awesome example: Eric, my partner in one of my Internet business, informed me this week that he “needs more money because there’s a lot of stuff he wants to buy soon.”

Unlike the average person, Eric is in a position to make this happen. He sat down with me to outline a plan to increase our sales in the next 30 days. Since he earns a healthy chunk of the profits, he will follow this plan and put more cash in his pockets.

Of course, many of you figure that Eric has it easy because he works with me. You’re right. He does have it easy now. Of course, he invested 8,000 hours of his life over the last 2 years into this business to get in this position. He’s earned the right to be here.

If you’re not happy with your current situation, then do something about it! Change your position. Get in control of your life.

You’ll be a whole lot happier when you take charge of your destiny.

The best way to assure your future is to create it.

Yours in success,

Shawn M. Casey

The Past, Present and Future of Realtor Marketing

August 21st, 2008

I am not sure about anything in Realtor marketing before the 70’s but I have been thinking over the last couple of days about what has been, and what is, and what will be in the future for Realtor marketing. This will probably be a multi part post as I am not sure exactly how long I will be able to go on for with each post.

First of all, back in the 70’s many Realtors where using geographic farming techniques or just talking to friends and neighbors. The real organized way to do Realtor Marketing at the time was to find a small geographic area and walk around knocking on doors. This was a very effective method that still works although the original idea was diluted by losing the knowledge of the area and instead getting a larger and larger farm market. There is nothing wrong with geographic farming and I know of many Realtors that make it work still although I believe that it is not nearly as effective as it once was for a few reasons.

First of all geographic farming is time consuming in an area of 500 homes and most Realtors have tried to increase the size but have to reduce their effectiveness. How do Realtors do this? Well most of the time the Realtor will instead of door knocking and getting their face out will instead phone through an area and either before or after send a newsletter or a notepad or some thing else. I know that it works but it the personal feel of the Realtor coming to the house has been lost in a way.

Second there are many more Realtors know then there ever have been. As home prices have skyrocketed the number of Realtors has skyrocketed as well. Trouble is sales have not kept up and the average Realtor makes just over 30,000 dollars a year. I know that becoming a Realtor is a bit of a fad and I am sure like any other market things will equalize over the coming years I am not really sure what is going to change that. If you are a Realtor now and facing this huge number of Realtor issue then you must set yourself apart by using Realtor Marketing in a different way.

In the 80’s more and more realtors had started doing Realtor marketing by using the phone to do farming and databases were just starting to get into place so that Realtors could access past, present and future clients could be easily mailed to and contacted. Again this was a very successful method of marketing but as the 90’s started and especially late in the 90’s as Act, Maximizer and Top Producer became popular as Realtor marketing tools and cheap enough for many Realtors to be able to afford. The type of Realtor Marketing that had earlier been very successful become oversaturated and lost its initial effectiveness. I am sure that this method has become less and less effective but is still popular and easy to do for most Realtors. I know of some Realtors that will mail a letter a day to expireds for two weeks or Realtors sending some kind of mailing to past clients every two weeks.

Now that we are into the internet age and with access to MLS info only a mouse click away Realtor marketing has again changed. If you are looking to make a difference then you must again go back to the way that Realtors worked in the 70’s and that the most successful Realtors have worked over the last few years.. No, I do not mean go door knocking but instead make sure that you are getting into the customers head by being likeable, trustworthy and top of mind by being a person and not just a voice on the phone or a signature on a letter or email.

It is more important now more than ever to be sure to use technology and to personalize your service. I believe that the best was to do this is to have a website that speaks in your own words and follow that up with a weblog that talks about not only real estate and contains Realtor marketing but also personal stories that create an aura ofbeing a real person instead of just a salesperson..

Facts Vs. Myths About Back Pain

August 20th, 2008

Let’s begin by learning some facts in order to separate truth from myth with regards to back pain. First of all, under one percent of acute lower back pain is the result of a serious infection or condition like cancer or a spinal injury. For those under 50, the rate is even lower.

Back pain is the number one disability for those under age 45. And it runs second, after the common cold, as the top reason for visiting a healthcare provider in the United States.

“There is nothing really wrong with you.” Myth! Chronic pain sufferers report that doctors generally tell this to about 90 percent of them and it is incorrect. In reality, the majority of low back pain cases or some 90 percent generally come from an unknown cause, like an infection or a particular injury. And the duration of the pain runs generally from four to six weeks.

“People don’t die from chronic back pain.” Wrong! The pain combined with depression and anxiety in long-term cases places sufferers at risk for suicide, which does happen from time to time.

“Most back pain requires surgery.” Myth! On the contrary, under two percent of patients with back pain need surgery. However, back pain is the third top reason for surgery.

“Only a small percentage of workers suffer back pain on the job.” Wrong! The top occupational hazard in the USA is back pain.

“Lie down and rest for back pain.” Au contraire. Contrary to popular believe, bed rest can hinder recovery. Health care providers recommend remaining active to decrease down time for patients.

“Men suffer back pain more than women.” Not! With regards to gender issues and back pain, it is a myth that men suffer back pain more than women. In reality, the only main difference is with secondary pain to disk disorders during middle age. However, with regards to race, low back pain is reported more frequently among Caucasians than other races including African Americans.

“If a patient’s pain description lacks a regular, consistent pattern, it’s probably imagined or exaggerated.” Myth! No two people, no two cases are totally 100 percent identical. Activities, events, pain and people themselves vary from day to day and there is no 100 percent correct way to describe pain in words to fit a perfectly accurate diagnosis.

Learn HTML The Easy Way

August 17th, 2008

Do you wish to build a website?
Would you like to learn simple html?

Of course you would like to learn how to build a website.
Many people have done it. But a lot of people are scared by the thought of learning html, so they never start.

I know because I did’n dare to do it myself - until recently, that is.

A couple of years ago I said to myself: I want to make a website now. But where do I start. How do I find someone who will mentor me?

I knew of course that I could use one of the so-called wysiwyg html creators or none html website creators, but knowing what I know today, I cannot recommend it. Why? Because they have very limited possibilities of producing the website you really want.

I really don’t know how many hours I spent when I tried to create my first web site, before I found a good tutorial, but it’s in scores - at least.

Then I was lucky enough to come across the “First Website Builder” from the Newbie Club, a very good tool, made for newbies.

Later in the process I found another tutorial. When I saw it for the first time, I knew immediately that this was exactly what I had been looking for. Easy to understand and it’s got more practise than theory.

It’s created by a man called Joe. He has made one of the best tutorials that will teach you all the html basics - and it’s free to use.

Joe is very educational and my experience was that I could easily learn the basics which would enable me to get a website up and running. If I wanted some more advanced knowledge of html, he offered that too.

After having been instructed by Joe, I also found someone who could tell me how to get my own domain and have my site hosted and uploaded to the web.

As I mentioned, most people find all this overwhelming. I thought so too before I got the knowledge I have today.

But with the help from good people, I finally learned how to do it.

I have made a report about how to get a website up and running. If you go to my website, I will be happy to send you the report.

Finn Malten is an Internet Marketer with a special interest in content marketing.
You can learn more on his website: http://www.mylivingonline.com/report
